HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala (WDHN)—On Monday, a Houston County man found guilty on dozens of child porn charges was resentenced after his original sentence was deemed illegal.

Cody Fulgham was sentenced to 24 years in September 2019 after being convicted of 92 counts of possession of child pornography. He was initially charged with 100 counts.

Even though he was already serving his sentence in Barbour County’s Easterling Correction Facility, Fulgham was hauled back to court for resentencing.

According to Houston County District Attorney Russ Goodman, the reason for this resentencing was that the 2019 sentencing was illegal.

Goodman says this was because Judge Larry Anderson did not split the sentence per Alabama law.

Circuit Judge Christopher K. Richardson resentenced Fulgham to two twelve-year sentences, totaling twenty-four years behind bars.
