WIREGRASS (WDHN) — Various events are going on in the Wiregrass to celebrate the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 16.

Here is a look at the events in the Wiregrass:

Saturday, January 14

  • MLK Day Breakfast will be held at the Union Grove Baptist Church on Coppinville Road in Enterprise at 9:00 a.m. Admission is free and Enterprise Mayor William Cooper will be the speaker.

Sunday, January 15

  • MLK Mass Rally will be held at the North Highland Baptist Church from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Enterprise MLK Parade will begin at the Enterprise City Hall at 2:00 p.m. and end at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church on Geneva Highway.
  • Community Awareness Program MLK Event will be held at the Enterprise Civic Center at 4:00 p.m.

Monday, January 16

  • The 9th Annual MLK Classic Step Show will be held at the Dothan Civic Center at 5:00 p.m.
  • MLK Memorial Breakfast will be held at North Highland Baptist Church on Houston Street from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
  • MLK Memorial Parade will start at the Piggly Wiggly on Montgomery Highway in Dothan at 9:30 a.m.
  • MLK Memorial Program will be held at the Dothan Civic Center at 11:00 a.m.
  • MLK Day in Ozark will be held at the Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church located at 707 West Reynolds Street at 11:00 a.m. Enterprise Mayor William Cooper will be the speaker.
  • MLK Day Celebration Parade will begin on 802 Newton Street in Elba at 10:00 a.m.
  • MLK Day Celebration Brunch will be held at the Elba Theater at 10:45 a.m.
