OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) —The Boys and Girls Club of Ozark is teaming up with the Wiregrass Food Bank to hold a food distribution drive-through event for families in need.

The last time The Boys and Girls Club held a food distribution they gave away about 100 bags of food, so this year they decided to double that amount and are hoping to give away 200 bags.

This is a project is an initiative that the club’s junior staff is putting on in hopes of serving the community.

“So we know right now there’s a lot of families in need,” Club’s Executive Director, Jessica Moore said. “And with this partnership with the Wiregrass Food Bank, we knew that we could make it happen. And the junior staff really love to give back and do community events, so this was something that they were very strong on.”

The distribution event will be on September 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at The Boys and Girls Club at 195 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. It will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
