Local experts advise to have severe weather plan in place

WIREGRASS, Ala. (WDHN) — Bad weather hit the Wiregrass this week.

Although we weren’t as badly affected as some areas, experts fear this could just be the beginning of the storms to come.

According to the National Weather Service, the springtime is one of the worst times for weather in the southeast, with the exception of hurricane season.

Most thunderstorms happen between May and August, the worst could be ahead of us.

Experts want to emphasize the importance of having a weather plan in place, so you and your family can be prepared.

“It’s good to have a plan,” Early County Emergency Management Director Tony Gentry said. “So if your family is not home, if something was to happen, you can have a place to gather at, or meet at so everybody knows everybody is okay.”
