ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN)—This morning, several veteran organizations along with Enterprise hosted a memorial ceremony for those brave men and women who gave their lives for our country.
A wreath-laying ceremony took place at the “Wall of Freedom” located at Johnny Henderson Park off Highway 167 North.
Mayor William Cooper says “The city of Progress” has one of the largest numbers of active and retired military members of any community in Alabama.
VFW Post 6683 based in Enterprise organized the ceremony for those who wore the uniform.
Americans should take a few moments out of their busy schedules to remember those who “Paid the Ultimate Sacrifice”.
Memorial Day was started a few years after the Civil War to honor the thousands of Union and Confederate soldiers who laid down their lives.
The holiday now encompasses all Americans who have fought in our country’s wars and conflicts.
