UPDATE (WDHN) — The Eufaula Police Department said early Thursday morning that the missing alert for a 70-year-old woman has been cancelled.

Shirrell Phoenix was found safe, according to authorities.

“We extend our appreciation to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Alabama Fusion Center, Alabama Search and Rescue and to the public and the multitudes that helped spread the word of the Alert,” police said.

EUFAULA, Ala. (WDHN) — Alabama authorities issued a Missing and Endangered Person Alert for a woman from Eufaula Wednesday evening.

According to the alert, the Eufaula Police Department is attempting to locate Shirrell Moeller Phoenix, 70, who was last seen Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. wearing a yellow t-shirt and shorts with a small black dog. She was last seen in the area of Towne Center Road in Eufaula.

Anyone with information on Phoenix’s whereabouts should contact the Eufaula Police Department at (334) 687-1200 or call 911.

Authorities believe Phoenix may be living with a conditions that may impair her judgment.
