DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Several cars came crashing into each other in a multi-car accident at South Oates and Ross Clark Circle on Monday night shortly before 9 p.m.
Police say a total of four cars were involved in the crash on the northwest corner of the intersection.
One person has been injured and taken to the hospital, but those injuries appear to be minor.
Police think it all started when a car driving north was speeding and tried to cross traffic to turn west onto the Circle colliding with one vehicle which set off a chain reaction and caused the second vehicle to crash into two others.
Police have statements from witnesses, but plan to check cameras in the area to confirm their stories.
Two southbound lanes along 231 and two westbound lanes on Ross Clark Circle had to be shut down, but have since been re-opened.
Police do not believe slick streets from Monday’s rain were a factor.
