Multiple law enforcement agencies respond to standoff in Henry County, ends deadly

HENRY COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — On Thursday, a man barricaded himself in a home in Henry County.

According to Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox, a male suspect locked himself inside a house North of Headland on Henry County Road 145, just West of Highway 431.

Houston County Sheriff, Donald Valenza confirmed with WDHN News that his office assisted with this incident. Valenza says the suspect made both domestic and terroristic threats.

Maddox says the incident started around 3 p.m. on Thursday and ended around 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. Friday morning, however details are limited due to the circumstances.

According to Sheriff Maddox, the male suspect ended up shooting at an officer and the officer had to fire back, ultimately killing the male suspect.
