DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Houston County grand jury indicted a man suspected in a robbery and murder on a lesser charge Thursday.
Jihad Huntington was one of three men suspected in the death of Keontre Whatley. Whatley’s body was found outside Home Oil in Cowarts.
The indictment record states that Huntington is accused of killing the victim with a handgun.
Huntington was originally charged with capital murder but was indicted on felony murder instead. He is still held without bond.
Friday, Huntington’s lawyer motioned to withdraw from the case since “felony murder no longer requires the defense in which the undersigned was appointed for.
