DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Regional Airport is currently working to ensure traveler’s health amid the nationwide coronavirus concerns.
Airport Director Adam Hartzog says the airport is ensuring that areas and planes are being cleaned after every flight. As an added measure, additional hand sanitizer dispensers are being installed in the facility.
This comes after airlines such as Delta announced enhanced cleaning measures like fogging and increased kiosk cleanings.
In the meanwhile, TSA officers are operating as normal. If the virus were to become a threat, masks will be used by the agents while they check travelers.

To our passengers,Dothan-Houston County Airport Authority
Like so many of you, we have spent the past few weeks learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on our world. For the Dothan Regional Airport, that means understanding how it affects our employees, passengers and communities, and then making needed adjustments to our operations.
Our main objective is the health and safety of all passengers, employees, and the whole Wiregrass community. With that in mind, we have begun taking precautionary measures in our routine in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
We have ramped up our cleaning routines and have added hand sanitizing stations throughout the terminal to ensure that our facility is thoroughly sanitized.
We are monitoring and implementing the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations on preventing the spread of the virus, as well as the Alabama Department of Public Health guidelines. You can find these guidelines at each department’s website. We have shared specific instructions with our employees to prioritize health and safety measures.
Delta Air Lines has implemented their own proactive procedures and strategies to protect their passengers and employees.
