OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — For 15 years now, the Van Heusen building in Ozark has been vacant. But as the city announced Wednesday morning, a new company is finally moving in with the hopes of bringing more opportunities to the community.

Brittanie’s Thyme is an organic skincare company that decided to move to Ozark in order to expand their company, as well as provide more jobs for the city.

“We’re looking to be up to 50 jobs over some time, and we look for them to expand far beyond that and just the positive aspect of us bringing in a new industry is just going to be a huge boost for Ozark,” Ozark Mayor Mark Blankenship said.

Not only will this new company bring in more job opportunities for the city, but will also bring in more business from people outside of Ozark.

“It’s not just products being manufactured and distributed away from here but people here in Ozark, in Dale County, can actually use them and order them and talk it up to other people,” Ozark Economic Development President, Holle Smith said. “So that they can encourage their friends and family outside of the area to also use these products.”

The president of Brittanie’s Thyme says that he is ready to get started in Ozark, and already feels at home in the community.

“The time we’ve spent here, we’re starting to feel at home, and me and my family are looking forward to being a part of this community,” Brittanie’s Thyme President Brent Holmes said.

Mayor Blankenship says the Van Heusen building needs renovations done, but once those are fixed, Brittanie’s Thyme is ready to serve Ozark.
