HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Have you ever needed a quick item from the grocery store but didn’t want to get off your car? A new franchise coming to Alabama could help with that.

Farm Stores, a convenience store based out of Florida is being built on the southeast corner of Brannon Stand and Flowers Chapel Road in Dothan will have a unique concept.

This neighborhood store will allow people to order items such as dairy, household goods, adult beverages, ready-to-eat food options via an app, or call, drive up, and have those items placed in your car.

Former Dothan Mayor Mike Schmitz said they are going to build three Farm Stores locations throughout Dothan, with hopes of having 100 throughout all of Alabama, with the first being put right in the Circle City.

“We have moms with kids in the back seat that don’t want to get out of the car to go into the store,” Schmitz said. “You pull up, we put it in your car. We get you out. You can go home and take care of your kids.”

Schmitz hopes to have the farm store on Brannon Stand and Flower Chapel Road fully open to the public by June of this year.

Of course, you can trust WDHN to keep you updated with this development.
