DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — WDHN is learning more about the Saturday afternoon incident that happened at Wiregrass Commons Mall.
“The only thing I saw was a bunch of people screaming and running off in different areas, and we ran in here and got and did lockdown,” Wiregrass Commons Mall employee, Shawn Jones said. “And they were saying that someone said that someone pulled a gun out in the store.”
Dothan police now confirm that a handgun was pulled out during a fight between a customer and an employee of one of the mall’s businesses. Witnesses at the time of the fight gave conflicting information on whether or not any gunshots were fired, according to Dothan Police Captian Will Glover. So far, there has been no evidence inside or outside the mall of any gunfire.
No one was injured and no suspects are currently wanted by police. The mall is now back open for business as usual.
