DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Last May, it was announced that a new apartment complex was going to be constructed on John D. Odom Road.
Since that time, not a lot of progress has been made on these apartments after receiving approval from the Dothan City Planning Committee last year.
Concern was voiced from the Odom subdivision across the street about property tax value, but now, that may not be a concern anymore.
“They have until May, middle of May; I think can’t recall an exact date before their time runs out,” City Planning Director Todd McDonald said. “You know, development plan approvals have a year, doesn’t mean they can’t come back and ask for an extension of that, but if we don’t see anything from them in the next 90 days or so, we’ll be asking the question what’s the problem.”
Previously, a hotel project on the old Pizza Kastle property was declared dead in water as the private developer took too long to move forward.
