UPDATE:

HARTFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — Another Wiregrass police department’s name has been used in a t-shirt scam.

The Hartford Police Department posted a photo of the exact same t-shirt sale scam text, this time claiming to be their department instead of the Dothan Police Department.

Again, police in both Dothan and Hartford say they are not selling t-shirts and that anyone who received these texts should not click the link.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Police Department is warning of a scam involving t-shirt sales.

DPD released this statement about the scams:

The Dothan Police Department is not selling t-shirts. We will not text anyone a link to click. If you receive a message like this, block the number, delete it, and DON’T CLICK the link.

Dothan police have attached a photo to show a scam text claiming to be selling DPD shirts.

Again, if you receive a text from a number claiming to be selling shirts on behalf of Dothan police, don’t click the link.
