One organization takes six-day walk to help veterans

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — At Troy university, An organization named walk heart is walking for veterans.

It’s not just a walk in the park but a 128.5 mile long walk from their Troy university quad all the way to sunny Panama City Beach, Florida.

It takes six days and they do it to raise money and awareness for a veteran rehabilitation center.

While donations have looked different this year, director of Walk Heart, Josh Marvin said they are just grateful to do it.

“We love to have support from the wiregrass area,” Marvin said. “We just are really grateful for the ways that we’ve seen life change in veterans because of walk heart and because of the donations made to ato walk heart, we walk every year because of them.”

It may be painful and a long journey but marvin says it’s all worth it for the sake of veterans.
