Ozark apartments to be renovated thanks to $1 million housing grant

Local News

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The Ozark Housing Community has received more than $1 million from a capitol fund program grant.

Though the amount varies every year, this is the most money the organization has received in years.

The money will go toward the renovation of 16 apartments around the city.

Apartments to be renovated include Brown Homes, Chalker Drive, Mathews Avenue, Ross Drive, and Glenway homes.

Though this money will not complete the renovation process, it will allow the Ozark Housing Community to reach its end goal.

“We always use these moneys to try and upgrade our units,” Dannie Walker, executive director and CEO of the Ozark Housing Community. “We want to make them the best units that we can. As far as our rental housing here in ozark, our goal is to have the best rental housing in the city.”

The renovations will be completed over the next few years.
