OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — A local church in Ozark lent a helping hand to those in need Friday.

Willow Oaks Church of Christ handed out bags filled with food and necessities to people and families who need help.

They even had separate bags for children, which included more kid-friendly foods.

For the adults, there were dry goods, bags with different types of meat, and even items to wrap and store leftovers.

“We don’t care how many bags they ask for or anything,” event coordinator Ivy Murry said. “We’re not checking that; we just want to be of assistance. People know what they need, and we’re just glad to be of service to them. We’re just glad to be able to provide the service.”

These handout events are once a month, usually on the fourth Friday of each month.
