OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — The Ozark City Council met Thursday afternoon to discuss the future of Police Chief Marlos Walker, who is currently on paid administrative leave.

This is due to what Mayor Mark Blankenship and members of the Ozark City Council voted on July 20 to terminate Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker and Ozark Police Major Tim Hicks due to allegations of inappropriate and unprofessional behavior.

Shortly after convening, Ozark’s City Council suggested that the session should be rescheduled for next week.

Chief Walker was not in attendance and no action was taken on Thursday.

The council has rescheduled for next Wednesday, September 15, at 5 p.m. WDHN News will keep you updated as the hearing continues.
