OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — As WDHN reported on Fourth of July weekend, a hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a child and injured his mother.

The crash happened near the intersection of Mixon School Road and Saxon Lane. And one of the three suspects, Trevonta Nance, 21, was arrested on felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident. But, Nance’s attorney explains why he believes will be found not guilty.

“I think he was erroneously charged, I think when then evidence comes to fruition in that is in the court I think everybody will understand it was just a charge that should not have been brought,” attorney David Harrison said. “Because my guy, again, his car was not involved in any accident whatsoever, he did not contribute to any accident whatsoever, and that’s what the evidence is going to show.”

Harrison says he expects his client will be indicted, but ultimately will not be convicted.
