OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — Ozark police are investigating a woman’s death after she was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler Friday, according to a press release.
Ozark-Dale County E911 got a call about the incident at 11:55 p.m., which is said to have happened around the Inland Truck Stop Highway 231.
Emergency personnel found Denise Smiley, 30, of Ozark dead from having been hit by the truck.
The OPD release said Smiley was walking on the southbound side of Highway 231 to her home, which was less than a mile away from where she was killed.
