COFFEE COUNTY (WDHN) — In his bimonthly COVID update on Tuesday, the Coffee County E.M.A. Office provided more grim statistics.
Coffee County’s positivity rates are 30% with 261 new cases over the last 7 days. An average of 39 cases a day and an overall total of just under 7,600 cases.
“Hospitals are overrun, you probably heard about it in the media,” Coffee County Deputy EMA Director, Grant Lyons said. “We’re telling people if you don’t need to go to the E.R. unless you have to go because hospitals are full.”
While cases are still high, Lyons says the positivity rate is down by about 45% from the previous 7-day average.
