Weather affects local water parks’ attendance

Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — As rainy showers pour into the Wiregrass, it’s impacting waterparks.

At Water World, Aquatics Manager Kelly Stakelum said they’ve seen fewer residents because of the murky weather.

“You know it’s cloudy outside or it’s threatening weather or even a beautiful day with a chance of rain we have less people, but overall it’s been slow and steady we’ve been doing good and we’ve had very positive attendance this year overall,” Stakelum said.

Despite the bad weather, she encourages people to come out after a year of dealing with COVID-19.

She looks forward to the future and moving past the pandemic. To see how you can enjoy Water World, visit WaterWorldDothan for more information.
