DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Buying the perfect couch for your home might not be so easy as we see at furniture shortage all across the nation.
At the end of 2020, the furniture business started to see some delays with delivery times that have caused many businesses to see a shortage.
Furniture that usually takes six to eight weeks to come in now takes six to eight months. One local furniture store owner says the shortage is caused by a number of factors.
“You’ve got COVID issues, you’ve got employee issues at the factories that make it causing some delays, you’ve got foam shortages, and then you’ve got the different tariffs, and price increases and then on top of all that you’ve the transportation issue,” Owner of Rudd Furniture, Jason Rudd said.
Rudd says that his store hasn’t seen the delays that other stores have seen, and they’ve been busy despite the shortage.
