ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Renovations are underway on the Annex building and the Herndon Oil building in Henry County.
The Annex building will provide the county with another courtroom, a meeting area, and hopefully an area for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to use where people can renew their driver’s licenses.
The Henry County Commission says that Voak Construction has begun renovations of the building and they should be completed by the end of July.
The Herndon Oil building is also being worked on and the hope is to be moved in sooner rather than later.
“Several things left to be done, as far as communication within it, but that’s ongoing,” Henry County Chairman, David Money said. “Realistically, we will probably be talking sometime in August before we actually occupy it.”
In about a month, Money says that Voak Construction will be coming to take up the floor in the Herndon Oil building and will be replacing it.
