DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The city is working to make some changes to the BMX track at Westage Park ahead of some huge events.

The Dothan City Commission decided to enter into a $60,000 contract with a local architect company to design a new bathroom and concession stand.

They say the current ones are too small, run-down, and not as compliant as they would like for people with disabilities. These facilities will soon be much larger and more accessible for all patrons.

“We’ll put Seay Seay and Litchfield to go through the design and try to do that as quickly as we can and we are going to try to get something built out there by the beginning of next year,” Andrew Love said.

They hope this will help Dothan attract and retain national events at the BMX track — the next big event is expected in the spring of next year.
