DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — After two years of service with the Salvation Army in the city of Dothan. Nathan and Deanne Jones are moving on to their next appointment.

The Jones’ moved here during the pandemic in June of 2020 and will now be moving to the sunshine state to work in Stuart, Florida, which is near West Palm Beach.

City leaders and Salvation Army Advisory Board members to send off the Jones’.

During their two years, the Jones’ have worked with the community and have worked to build up the amount of property that the Dothan Salvation Army has, in order to provide more space to help those in need.

“Immerse ourselves in this community,” Salvation Army Corps Officer, Deanne Jones said. “It’s been our home for two years and it really has felt like that and the people have been very welcoming for us. So we have been making sure that the Salvation Army is visible in the community.”

Taking over for the Hones’ will be Major Linda Payton who has 31 years of experience with the Salvation Army and Deanne Jones says that the city of Dothan will be in good hands.
