SAMSON, Ala. (WDHN)—The Samson City Council has approved a motion to charge Geneva County for any
uninsured ambulance runs outside the city’s police jurisdiction.
Earlier this year, the mayors of geneva county’s “Largest” cities requested their respective
Rescue squads are paid by the county for runs “outside” city limits.
Samson will soon begin to “charge” Geneva County 300-dollars for “non-insured” runs. In other words,
runs for those individuals who don’t have insurance, and who live outside Samson’s police jurisdiction
who receive ambulance care.
Earlier this year, Mayor Clay King, along with several of the other mayors had requested that Geneva County
allot them more money to handle emergency runs outside their jurisdictions.
