DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — During the holiday season, one of the biggest joys a parent can have is their child seeing Santa Claus.

Unfortunately for some children, meeting the holly jolly man is not so easy.

Children like Sullivan Deshazo, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy who lives with his family in Dothan.

He suffers from multiple illnesses that make it hard for him to enjoy life as other children do.

When his mom made a post on Facebook to let her son see Santa Claus for the first time, she was awestruck by the amount of support she received.

“I was very overwhelmed with the responses that we had. A lot of people shared it, and we had people offer from the minute we posted it to a few days after offering to come to visit. The saddest thing I had to do was tell people no,” Sullivan’s mom, Alaina Deshazo said. “It was such a special and magical experience for them to come. The photos don’t do it justice, to see it through their eyes, it was just absolutely amazing.”

Sullivan is no stranger to WDHN as his father is the production manager for the station.

His mother wants to thank everyone who offered to help.

She says the look on her son’s face was priceless.
