ELBA, Ala. (WDHN) – An Elba home was destroyed in a Saturday night fire.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Elba firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive on the northwest side of the city. When firefighters arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames.
Several units from the New Brockton Volunteer Fire Department also arrived on the scene for mutual aid.
Several pets inside the home died in the blaze.
“The home is a total loss and there were numerous pets inside the residence that perished in the fire,” a Facebook post from the Elba Fire Department said.
Those living inside the residence made it out safely. No firefighters were injured.
Elba Police and Coffee County Sheriff’s deputies also responded. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
