UPDATE: Suspect in custody following exchange of gunfire, person wounded near downtown Dothan

UPDATE: (WDHN) — Dothan Police told WDHN News an argument at a local gas station led to an exchange of gunfire around 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

One victim was taken to a local hospital. Sgt. Jeremy Kendrick said the shooting happened at the Shell gas station located on Montana Street and West Main Street near downtown Dothan.

The victim received non-life threatening injuries, police confirmed. DPD also said a suspect was taken into custody as the investigation continues.

The shooting on Montana Street was the second shooting that occurred in Dothan within an hour’s time. Another shooting on Persimmon Street around 1:00 p.m. Sunday left one person suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Sunday afternoon, a shooting occurred near downtown Dothan, according to a police alert.

One male victim reportedly received a chest wound.

The shooting occurred on the 200 block of Montana Street.

Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance were on the scene of the incident.

The victim was transporting to Southeast Health. according to initial reports.

This is an ongoing investigation and WDHN will have updates as they become available.
