Slocomb home engulfed in late-night fire

Local News

SLOCOMB, Ala. (WDHN) — A fire completely engulfed a Slocomb home on Ida Street late Monday night.

Slocomb Fire-Rescue, Malvern Fire, and Fadette Fire were all called to the scene around 11:33 p.m.

Within four minutes, Engine 3 arrived at the fire, at which point the single-story home was already completely overtaken by flames. Fire personnel first tried putting the fire out from the outside before beginning an attack from the inside.

The fire was eventually brought under control, although the fire units remained at the residence for around three hours while controlling the hot spots.

Slocomb Fire-Rescue, Slocomb Police, and the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating what caused the fire.

WDHN has reached out to see if any injuries were reported, and we are waiting to hear back.
