Southeast Health Enacts Changes to Visitation Policy

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – Effective Wednesday, July 28 Southeast Medical will be changing its policies pertaining to visitors at the hospital.

Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 patients and increased transmission risk among the community, the guidelines put forth by Southeast Medical will change to better protect its patients and staff to try and help curve the spread.

The changes in guidelines will now have visitors and support persons register at the second entrance on the upper level of the east parking deck. Also beginning August 2. Entrance three will be converted into a check-in point.

If any visitors do not plan on staying overnight, entrance three will serve as an entry and exit to the building during the visitation hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. These policies will remain in effect for many areas such as pediatrics, NICU, Family Birth Center and for patients at end-of-life.

Southeast encourages patients and families to utilize technology and stay connected to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
