DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Monday, Southeast Health saw its lowest number of COVID cases since the pandemic, with only one case reported.
Today, the number rose to seven patients, but that is significantly lower than what the hospital saw during the peak of the pandemic.
While Southeast celebrates these low numbers, Southeast Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. George Narby, says COVID-19 isn’t going away for a while.
“COVID will become part of our health landscape and illness landscape here in Alabama and the wiregrass and elsewhere,” Dr. Narby said.
Dr. Narby says that the best way to reduce illness, hospitalizations, and deaths is by getting vaccinated.
