ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN)— The American Automobile Association estimates more than 55 million Americans will take to the road and travel more than 50 miles to their Thanksgiving day destination. The most since 2019, prior to the pandemic.
Late this morning, this was the scene along the Boll Weevil Circle in Enterprise. A steady flow of vehicles mainly heading south along state Highway 167, which is a common north-south route to Florida’s gulf coast.
Alabama troopers say they’ve seen similar heavy southbound traffic along Highway 231 in Dothan.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reminds drivers to take their time and watch out for the other guy. As one official says the Gulf of Mexico has been around for millions of years, don’t be concerned about it drying up before you make it to your beach destination.
In addition, buckle up, don’t drink, and drive. If you do drink, make sure there’s a designated driver in the vehicle.
