PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A family is putting together the pieces on Monday after their family member was involved in a fatal car accident in Pike County.
Angel Schofield was a passenger in a truck on the way back to her home in Luverne from Troy when a minor driving an SUV hit the tuck.
Schofield was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident
In Pike County, the crash happened on U.S. 29 near mile marker 166, approximately two miles west of Troy city limits.
According to family members, Schofield loved the simple things in life and loved her family and the beach.
“She was a staple in our family just like any grandma is. You know they hold you together,” Angel’s daughter-in-law, Valerie Schofield said. “She loved her grandkids more than anything. She was a staple in the family.”
The family also says that Schofield loved her husband who passed away two years ago and that the family will miss her.
