DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — With the value of homes on the rise over the past few months, buying a home may not be as easy as it once was.
Throughout the nation, higher rates on the inventory of new homes are causing mortgages on houses to surge, providing less of a financial cushion for buyers looking to become new homeowners
However, here in the Wiregrass, a local real estate agent says that the market is still hot and the national trend hasn’t trickled down to the area.
“We still are way above average, it’s definitely time to buy rates are still extremely low and that’s why the demand is there,” Property Champions President, Stephen Holland said. “Inventory is slowly starting to catch up with new constructions coming onto the market.”
Holland says that local demand is still there for homes with extremely low rates and that there’s no better time to look for a home throughout the Wiregrass than now.
