HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — In local news, a Wiregrass business has received recognition of its business by the Alabama Retailer Association.

Todd Farms is located in Headland and offers a range of goods and services to the local community.

For this, they have received a bronze award and were named one of the Alabama Retailers of the Year for a business with sales of $1 million and under.

Located on Highway 231, the business includes a general store, restaurant, barbershop, feed, and seed, and was founded on its homemade syrup products.

One of the co-owners of todd farms spoke to WDHN on how this award represents the legacy of their business.

“My father-in-law, Joe Jodd, is the original syrup maker, he is the syrup master, and we appreciate everything he has done through the years to create the need for that business and for people to want to remember his story by seeing how that is done,” Todd Farms co-owner, Annette Todd said. “My husband is a professor and assistant dean at Troy Dothan and he is very involved in this business as well. He is on-site when he can be, and we do this as a family.”

Todd says the family has been making syrup since 1835 and the award just affirms the legacy that their family business carries on. For more information on Todd Farms visit their website here.
