HENRY COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — An Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project will begin near Headland on Monday.

On Monday, October 24th, the ALDOT project for U.S. Highway 431 will start north of the Houston County line to the Bay Line Railroad Crossing in Headland.

The nearly $2 million contract was granted to Midsouth Paving, Inc. with the lowest bid that met the project requirements. The work is expected to be completed by Spring of 2023.

The road work will include planning, resurfacing, and roadway markings. Lane closures and reduced speed will be possible throughout the project.

Drivers should expect delays and be cautious of workers and equipment while traveling through the area.
