OPP, Ala. (WDHN)—An active investigation is underway after two older men were found dead inside the master bedroom of a home in opp. Autopsies will be done to determine what killed them, but WDHN’s Mike Gurspan says authorities do not believe someone went into the home and killed them.

On Tuesday morning, Opp police on a family welfare concern broke into this home on Bryant Avenue. They found
two bodies in the master bedroom. Due to decomposition, Assistant City Police Chief David Harrell says
the men may have been dead for more than a week. They were roommates, and have been
identified as 60-year-old “Kincey Jeffcoat” and 63-year-old” Raymond Anderson”.

Harrell says “you’re looking at a small community especially in that area because that particular neighborhood is kind of away from town. Ya, people want to know and be concerned about what’s going on in their community.”

Residents on Bryant Avenue describe it as a quiet neighborhood. Several residents say they were “shocked” to learn
what happened, and hope they weren’t murdered.

Nearby resident James Everette says “and as far as the mystery of what killed the men it’s up to the department of forensics in Montgomery to try and discover the details of exactly what happened,” according to Harrell.

Authorities say they found narcotics in the house, but are not sure if it had anything to do with the
Deaths.
