DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Two Dothan residents are facing numerous charges for breaking and entering into vehicles at a local church.

Desiree Marie Lopez, 30, and Darnell Downs, 35, were arrested and charged with five counts each for breaking into five cars at Southside Baptist Church on East Cottonwood Road in Dothan Tuesday.

A member of the church told WDHN over the phone that the break-ins likely happened while people were present during daycare hours.

Both Lopez and Downs were released from the Houston County Jail Thursday on bonds totaling $75,000 each.
