HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office just finished releasing new details on the shooting of a Hardy Gray of Pansey.

Sheriff Donald Valenza said that Cierra Lushanda Goodson, 34, of Dothan was arrested for the murder of Hardy Lynn Gray, 58, was an “acquaintance” of the man who was killed.

They believe his murder was the result of a planned attempt to steal money from Gray.

The sheriff also said that preliminary autopsy reports show that Gray was shot several times; he had multiple gunshot wounds in his upper torso.

Officers also believe that Gray was probably killed Sunday or perhaps earlier, even though his body was not discovered until Monday morning.

The sheriff’s office is still actively working this case, but they hope to have it wrapped up by Thursday or Friday.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the murder of 58-year-old Hardy Gray, who was found dead in his home on Monday morning.

According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Cierra Lushanda Goodson, 34, was booked into the Houston County Jail with no bond at 1:20 a.m. on Tuesday. Goodson has been charged with capital murder robbery – first degree in connection to the death of the victim.

Houston County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are still actively working on the case and says no other information is being released at this time. Sheriff Valenza plans on holding a press conference on the case.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Around 8 a.m. Monday morning police received a report of a man shot in his home.

A coworker of 58-year-old Hardy Gray got suspicious when he hadn’t shown up for work or called out from work at KJ Construction, which prompted another coworker to check his house.

When he arrived, he found Gray lying on the floor and called the police.

Police say gray had a fatal gunshot wound and the case was under investigation.

WDHN was also told Houston County Sherrif are searching for suspects, as foul-play is expected.

Gray’s brother, Billy, says he and his brother were close and he just couldn’t believe his fishing buddy was taken from him so soon.
