DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Last week, voters in Dothan chose who they wanted to serve them in the municipal elections, but on Tuesday, Dothan City Commissioners confirmed the results.

WDHN was there as five current commissioners approved the election numbers.

All district results were confirmed along with the official date for the district two run-off. It’s a formality that election officials have to complete every year.

“We declared those candidates who received the majority of the votes, as duly elected,” Dothan City Clerk, Wendy Shiver said. “Also, we called for the run-off for District 2 Commissioner for the top two candidates. Receiving the most votes.”

Those top two candidates were Aristotle Kirkland and Phil “Philippe” Kirksey.

If you live in District 2 you have to register to vote by August 30 in order to cast your ballot in the run-off election which will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
