Waffle House removes condiments from tables, increases cleaning to prep for coronavirus

Local News

NORCROSS, Ga. (WDHN) — Waffle House has released a statement on how they will prepare for the Coronavirus moving forward.

The statement is as follows:

Our first priority has always been and will continue to be our Associates and our Customers. We want to share with you some of the steps we are taking to support that mission. We have strong relationships with the CDC and the local health departments and are following their guidance.

The statement continues with ensuring customers that the restaurants will continue to emphasize their current protocols of frequent handwashing, standard food safety protocols and not allowing our Associates to work when they are sick.

In addition, officials are proactively taking further steps in the restaurants to enhance sanitation protocols to help minimize the spread of germs.

Those protocols include:

  • More frequent sanitizing of common touchpoints such as tables, chairs, booth backs, door handles, faucets, jukeboxes, credit card terminals, restroom facilities and other service items
  • Removing condiments from all tabletops and making those available to customers upon request

In addition, a task force has been activated in Atlanta to support the Waffle House operations teams in all markets.

Officials will continue to evaluate these actions and adjust based upon further guidance from the CDC and local health departments.
