WALLACE, Ala (WDHN) — Wallace Community College students will hold a celebration to recognize Black History Month.

Wallace Community College-Dothan BSU students will hold a Black History Month Celebration on Friday, February 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bencze Theater located in Cherry Hall.

The main highlight of the event is the History of Our Hair feature.

This year, BSU wants to celebrate our history by focusing specifically on our hair history. Knowledge is power, and it’s important to know that braids, hair wraps, and locs are not just hairstyles—they are our history.

Daymesha Reed, WCCD Student Life Coordinator

The event is free and members of the public are invited to see it.
