WEBB, Ala. (WDHN) — In celebration for the Fourth of July, the town of Webb is hosting its annual Freedom Jubilee on Saturday, July 3.
The jubilee will be at the Webb Recreational Park with plenty of activities planned for everyone to enjoy. Events at the jubilee will include live music, inflatables, lots of vendors, a dunking booth, and of course: fireworks.
According to Webb’s Mayor, Cindy Buie, her husband, the former mayor of Webb, came up with the idea of this celebration 13 years ago and it’s been held ever since.
“We used to go Fort Gaines and watch fireworks and on the way home he said, ‘you know I don’t see why Webb can’t do something like this’,” Buie said. ” ‘Why do we have to go away from home when we can do it’ and that was in 2008 and we’ve been having it since.”
The Freedom Jubilee will begin at four Saturday afternoon.
Fireworks will start at 9. Admission is $5, but military and children ages 12 and under get in free.
