GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — Geneva police are reminding people to be careful behind the wheel after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on State Highway 27, near the Pea River bridge claimed the life of a Northwest Florida man.
Ronald Thompson, 61, of Westville was killed. Police say he was driving the vehicle that crossed the center-line and crashed head-on with a second vehicle.
A Hartford woman was driving the second car and received a broken leg.
An elderly passenger in Thompson’s vehicle also sustained a broken leg and lacerations and was treated at a Dothan area hospital.
Despite the state department of transportation repaving State Highway 27 through Geneva, Captain McDuffie says that had no bearing on Wednesday’s fatal wreck.
