DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A new walking trail at a Dothan assisted living center is officially open for residents to enjoy.
Whitehall Assisted Living Community held its ribbon cutting for the small trail on its property. The trail was built to help seniors who live there stay active, especially during the recent shutdown from COVID-19.
One 83-year-old man says his daily walk is three miles a day, so the trail is perfect for his exercise. And his top priority is safety.
“It’s very important that I have a place to walk, this is a good place, primarily because it’s not in traffic,” Whitehall Assisted Living resident, William Thompson said.
The trail also has benches for residents to enjoy outdoor leisure time.
