ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN)—The Enterprise City Hall has not been upgraded since it was built 55 years ago, but later this month the city council will open contractor bids to give the building a makeover.

WDHN News spoke to the Enterprise city engineer and public works director to get an idea of efforts to bring the facility into the 21st century.

Barry Mott says any renovation of enterprise city hall would include upgrades of the electrical and H.V.A.C. Both are original when the building was constructed in 1968. The chairs in the city council room are part of the original furniture.
There would also be changes to offices, business as usual has changed in 55 years.

Mott says “Typically the way business is done today was not done in 1968 and we want to at least a proposal look at how the building can be made more user friendly.”

Possible plans also involve consolidating several police offices into one central location in city hall. These are recent architectural renderings of what the changes may look like

LED lighting, new HVAC systems out there, and new electrical switch are more efficient there would be a return on investment, especially when it comes to energy efficiency, the greener the new design standards if we are to modify city hall on what we’re talking about”, according to Mott.

On the 23rd of this month, the bids are expected to be opened by the enterprise city council, looking at the different prices for a complete structure makeover.
