DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The Wiregrass Museum of Art will be holding a free screening of an ‘art-tastic’ short film that will draw you in.

On Friday, January 27, at 5:30 p.m., WMA will show a free screening of Chasin’ Butterflies: The Art of Being Butch Anthony, a short film that recently was awarded a winning spot for Best Short at The Savannah College of Art and Design Savannah Film Festival.

According to WMA, the short 19-minute film, directed by Joshua Harding, Adam Hobbs, and Matt Klug, explores the life and work of Butch Anthony, an artist known for his contemporary style from Seale Alabama.

The film was also selected for the 20th Annual Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Montana.

This film screening presents an opportunity for our local audience to get to see his (Anthony’s) work and life from a closer perspective, and to meet the artist at a unique event in downtown Dothan.

Dana-Marie Lemmer, WMA’s executive director and curator.

Anthony will be present at the event to sign copies of his Museum of Wonder catalog.

No registration is required for the event and the film is appropriate for all ages. Popcorn will be provided and a cash bar will be present, with proceeds supporting the museum’s annual arts programming.
